Shadow Valley
The board game developed is a fully operative 2-4 player board game created through a collaborative team effort. The team conceptualized, designed, and produced an immersive tabletop experience featuring a completely original story, world, and gameplay system. The team consisted of an art director (Delilah Chacon), senior designer (Kaitlyn Gerogianis) and junior designer (Dion Jones)
About the game
Shadow Valley is an exhilarating adventure where mystery reigns and secrets hide in the shadows! Players are challenged to navigate a landscape teeming with perilous obstacles and cunning traps, all while employing their best strategies and wits. The race to uncover the legendary treasure at the valley’s end is on, but be warned—danger lurks around every corner, and your opponents are just as eager to claim the prize.
Gameplay
The goal was to create a game that had similar gameplay as other classic games such as Candyland.
the board is a bi-fold board
The different areas to escape are based off classic monsters and everytime a player lands on a bat, they must draw a card to move on or stay stationary until they can roll their way out.
The game pieces were a wizard hat and crystal ball
Logo Process
For the logo, a more nostalgia look was the goal. We first wanted to incorporate the game die; however that would have caused confusion and we risked being mistaken for another popular tabletop game.
In the end, We opted for just text with a metal gradient. we used the crystal ball as the element to compliment the workmark for the box design.
